On August 24th, 2022, His Excellence Hakainde Hichilema, the President of the Republic of Zambia held a luncheon at the State House to celebrate the athletes' achievements in international competitions. Mr. Du Xiaohui, the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Mr. Li Tie, Chairman of Camco Group, Engineer Bernard Chiwala, Marketing Director of Camco Equipment (Zambia) Ltd. where among the dignitaries that attended the luncheon.
From July 2nd to July 23rd, the Africa Women Cup of Nations was held in Morocco, and the Zambia women's national football team performed well winning bronze and qualified to the Women World Cup to be held in Australia in 2023. At the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, from July 28th to August 8th, Zambian track and field athletes won gold in the 400m and boxers took home silver and bronze.
Camco Equipment (Zambia) Ltd. actively took the social responsibility and donated three generator sets for the event. President Hichilema thanked Chinese companies in Zambia for their support to the development of sports in Zambia, and hoped that more companies would contribute to the development of sports. “It will let more people benefit from the spirit of sports and promote cultural exchanges” the President stressed.
