Camco Motors held a launch ceremony of Forland on 16th September 2022, the event was graced by the Permanent Secretary Eng. Fredrick Mwalusaka, who represented the Minister of Transport and Logistics Hon. Frank Museba Tayali, MP. The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by Director Planning and Monitoring Mr. Stephen Mbewe and Director Transport Eng. Nkumbu Siame. The Chief Executive Officer of Public Service Micro Finance Company, Mr Mubanga Mwiko, and a representative from Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Zambia.
Camco Motors, as a member of Camco Group, was established in July 2021 with the mission to work towards a green Africa by green transportation. Camco Motors supply Africa with reliable traditional and new energy motor vehicles and provide backup service as well. Camco Motors is the authorized distributors for Chinese heavy duty trucks, medium trucks, light trucks, small trucks, buses, special vehicles and electrical motorcycle. Among the brands Camco Motors represent in Africa are Forland, Hongyan, Shaanxi Automobile, and Zhongtong.
Mr. Frank Tayali, Minister of Transport and Logistics of Zambia expected that Camco Motors and Forland carry out in-depth cooperation to provide more transportation and travel choices for local people in Zambia that utilizes new energy technologies. The Minister hoped the cooperation to promote scientific and technological development and technical exchanges in automobile and transportation industry.
Mr. Li Tie, Chairman of Camco Group, said that he will deepen cooperation with Forland to provide the local market with vehicles of reliable quality and superior performance to meet the diverse needs of customers.
Forland as a strategic brand under Foton Motor, have developed full-series products of four business segments, namely small truck, light duty truck, mid & heavy truck and special vehicle, to meet the production and living needs of global users. After more than 20 years development, Forland products sell well in more than 50 countries and regions around the world. Mr. Harry Han, the Regional General Manager of Forland in East Africa said that he was glad to work with Camco Motors to develop the Zambian market, improve after-sales and spare parts services, give customer more finance support. Mr Han said future plan is to establish a automobile production plant to achieve localized assembly, cultivate talents in the automobile industry, and promote the development of industry.
Engineer Bernard Chiwala, Marketing Director of Camco Equipment (Zambia) Ltd., said that Camco Motors and Forland will work together to help Zambia with the advanced energy-saving technology of Forland and diversified sales channels of Camco Motors. “The cooperation will help companies to actively respond to climate change and promote the green development of Zambia” Engineer Chiwala said in conclusion.
