Chinese Mining Enterprises in Zambia Launch Association, Appointment of CAMCO Group Chairman Li Tie

On 12th November, 2024, the establishment ceremony of the Chinese Mining Enterprises Association in Zambia (CMEAZ) under the theme of “3 Million Tonnes of Copper - Chinese Enterprises in Action” was grandly held in Lusaka. This event is a milestone for the development of Chinese mining enterprises in Zambia.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Han Jing of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia presented a letter of appointment to Chairman Li Tie of CAMCO Group as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association. This move demonstrates the embassy's support for the association's development, and also highlights Mr. Li Tie's reputation and capabilities in the industry, injecting strong impetus for the association's growth.

The launch of the "3 Million Tonnes of Copper - Chinese Enterprises in Action" project is of great significance. It will bring together the resources and technological advantages of Chinese enterprises in Zambia, promote the improvement of local mining capacity, contributing toward the target of 3 million tonnes of copper production. This will not only boost Zambia's economic development but also further deepen cooperation between China and Zambia in the mining sector, bringing more opportunities to both sides. The establishment of the association and the launch of this project have opened a new chapter for the development of Chinese mining enterprises in Zambia.
