On April 1, 2025, Mr. Li Tie, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Zambia (CCCZ), met with Mr. Anthony Kabaghe, President of the Zambia Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI).
During the meeting, CCCZ President Li Tie invited ZACCI to consult with the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) to organize a delegation to participate in the renowned China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, scheduled to be held in Changsha, China in June 2025. The event provides a unique platform for African and Chinese businesses to establish connections, explore new opportunities, and foster strategic partnerships. Mr. Li explained that this Expo will feature an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge products and services, and the Zambian delegation will be provided with a number of booths to display their offerings. He emphasized the importance of ZACCI organizing a delegation to participate in the China-Africa Expo, and also emphasized its potential benefits to Zambian businesses and the overall economy. He assured ZACCI of CCCZ’s full support to ensure a successful engagement.
In addition, CCCZ President Li Tie has also invited ZACCI President Anthony Kabaghe to deliver a keynote speech at the upcoming 2025 Business Forum High-Quality Cooperation Between Chinese and Zambian Enterprises hosted by CCCZ. The event is scheduled to be held on April 10, 2025. The topic of the speech is "How Chinese enterprises Can Work with Zambian enterprises". Mr. Anthony Kabaghe’s presentation will provide valuable insights and expertise on the opportunities and challenges encountered by Chinese enterprises doing business in Zambia.
The CCCZ Business Forum serves as a premier platform for enhancing economic cooperation between Zambian and Chinese businesses. Under the theme "High-Quality Business Cooperation Between Zambian and Chinese Enterprises", the event aims to bring together stakeholders from both nations for meaningful discussions and exploration of new partnership opportunities.
Mr. Li also expressed CCCZ’s intention to join ZACCI as a council member, aiming to contribute value to ZACCI’s initiatives. The Minister of Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga MP, had previously expressed similar views, highlighting the potential benefits of such cooperation.
Mr. Anthony Kabaghe welcomed the proposal and acknowledged the potential benefits of a stronger partnership between CCCZ and ZACCI. He also expressed appreciation for CCCZ’s commitment to sponsoring the ZACCI Business Dinner.

And, Mr. Kabaghe confirmed his acceptance to speak at the CCCZ Business Forum, where he would deliver a keynote speech on the topic "How Chinese enterprises Can Work with Zambian enterprises”.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing their commitment to enhancing the partnership between Zambia and China and promoting economic cooperation.
